“I admire Sandi’s courage and humor in articulating the varied experiences of loss. Not only in the written word and in the scale of her installations, but in the intimacies of found and private objects that illustrate and complement her stories.  Her personal loss is beautifully articulated and she makes it approachable and understandable in universal terms by clarity of language and in providing an audience with multiple points of entry.

Best of all – there is a tremendous amount of honesty and humor in her work so one moves through the exhibit being touched, educated and amused.  Sandi is doing groundbreaking work that shares a number of themes that resonate with our mission here at The Center.”

CHIME (Chaplaincy Institute of Maine) holds meeting at The Center for Grieving Children and encounters my work.  The participants are so touched by it that Anna Smulowitz Schutz  of CHIME  (playwright and now hospice chaplain) calls me and wants WHAT IS SACRED art exhibit piece to be centerpiece of 4 day conference in October.  The conference is entitled: “Sacred Arts: Personal & Global Transformation through Creative Expression.”   The art exhibit piece is to be placed in a room to be used exclusively for “meditation and contemplation.”  I am also asked to do a presentation and facilitate a workshop entitled:  “Follow Your Bliss…using your creative gifts to transform your life after loss.”
