"Wow, Mom. I'm so proud of you!

So...are we making any money yet?"

This quote from my middle child really doesn’t require much in the way of an explanation. Suffice it to say that my 12-year-old son is the most outspoken of my three children…and probably the most tuned in to the universe and the flow of life in general.  By my approximation, he is a 2,000-year-old soul trapped in the body of a pre-teen who is on the verge of a hormonal mutiny.  Oddly, he has a refreshingly charming way of complimenting people, while simultaneously insulting them.
I don’t know where he got it from.

Holden, I love you.  Thanks for your vote of confidence.  Don’t worry, I‘m going to make sure they don’t repossess the house…. and that you can go to sleep away camp next summer. And I promise you will always be proud of me.   Love, Mom
