Tulips

Oil painting on canvas with applied paper collage elements. This is an oil painting I did on a bleak, Maine,  winter’s day. It was inspired by a bouquet of beautifully colored pinkish-red tulips and  some words that were dancing through my head.  I then used some vintage paper-doll dresses and bit of writing and fabric patterns I had printed out onto paper in black & white as collage elements to add texture and fun.  This piece was created very spontaneously and with a lot of energy! It’s been hanging in my house and it gives makes me happy inside every time I look at it…especially in the wintertime when it’s dark at 4:30.
